“Racconti di carta”, interactive exhibition about Dante
In Putignano, in the homeland of papier-mache, “Racconti di Carta” project takes shape, an interactive exhibition that will bring the protagonists of the Divine Comedy through the alleys of the historical center until 30th September. Exactly 700 years after the death of Dante Alighieri, the Municipality of Putignano and the Putignano Carnival Foundation tell the Divine Comedy through the art of papier-mâché.
Twelve interactive installations in papier-mache, each born from the mastery of local artists starting from the details that Dante himself mentions in his verses. Each installation is the story of an action, the story of a movement, in which Dante’s characters are the protagonists. The intention is to give “life” to papier-mache art works, a form of art capable of telling and showing.
All of it, in the splendid setting of the historical center of Putignano, among alleys, open spaces and squares.
The art of papier-mache tells Dante and also becomes a good way to show the beauty of places, to direct your gaze also thanks to the play of lights, bringing the visitor into a timeless cultural dimension.
